To celebrate Alberto Muriel taking over as the regular artist on Propeller, we’ve decided to give our readers a little something extra. Given the huge influence of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies on our own “Superpowered Suspense Story”, we thought it would be interesting to reimagine some iconic Hitchcock moments with a super twist. Being a huge Marvel movie fan — I was especially excited by the appearance of Osborn and Loki …. but mostly Loki. And Dent. The coin was the perfect addition.

I am also a die-hard fan of the Marvel movies (especially the actual Marvel Studios ones) and I couldn’t be more excited about the next batch of films and tv shows leading up to Avengers 2. I just hope they hurry up and have Jarvis (voiced by the incredible Paul Bettany) evolve into either Ultron or The Vision before all the actors get too old and everything gets rebooted.

Nice idea. I think Joker as Norman Bates in “Psycho”? and Barbara Gordon in the shower…
The one that nearly made it in was Marion Cottilard as “Miranda” (from Dark Knight Rises) in a phone booth being hassled by lots and lots of bats. But we had to draw the line somewhere – so many iconic Hitchcock moments, so many opportunities to “Super” them up!

Great minds think alike?
There’s a couple of Hitchcock refs in Season 6 of the Simpsons. “Bart of Darkness” is a major take on Rear Window, complete with a “James Stewart” cameo. And at the end of “Fear of Flying”, after Marge’s phobia has been explained by the trauma of seeing her father working as a trolley dolly, she recalls a few other bad flying-related memories – including being strafed by a biplane, the exact scene from North by Northwest that Alberto has used.
